Say hello to Matt Taylor, our clinical director at Response Physio. The remarkable story of Response began with Matt and a single treatment room in a gym and has now developed into a leading multi-site organisation specialising in MSK physiotherapy and sports therapy.

Having worked in NHS rotations, professional sport, chronic pain and sports therapy, Matt recognises the importance of broadening your career options and flexibility within your role. We want all of our employees to be successful, so we invest in helping you grow and progress in your profession.

Quarterly Response All-Star Award

At Response, we like to recognise and reward hard work, and that is why we have introduced the new Response All-Star Award to our team members. All of our colleagues, from junior to senior level, get to participate in nominating a winner of each All-Star award, announced quarterly. To win the award, an individual must achieve at least one star in each of three different categories; these include exceptional teamwork, going above and beyond, and exceptional customer service, expertise, or professionalism.

We offer a range of learning and training activities that are relevant to your current or future practice, to help you climb the career ladder. This includes training time allowances, an external training budget, paid study leave, observation days, non-clinical slots and group teaching days. Hear from our team members

Previously, I worked in an acute NHS hospital for around 14 years. Working for Response physiotherapy gave me an excellent opportunity to move into a role with greater caseload variety and learning opportunities. Before starting at Response, I had worked in secondary care as an advanced practitioner. This gave me a solid foundation for my FCP role and enabled me to take on a greater number of leadership and supervision responsibilities. Since the FCP service has grown over the last six months, I have had the fantastic opportunity to become one of the clinical lead first-contact MSK practitioners. With the support of the team, we are developing a fantastic service with a lot of exciting potential to grow further in the future.

I oversee the clinical development of our physiotherapists. In my profession, we are always growing and developing, and I enjoy helping others do the same. Our approach considers evidence, practice, and a broad approach that takes structural and mechanical principles into account. We provide informal and supportive training at Response. Clinicians can grow and develop in a supportive and encouraging environment. Our physiotherapists learn skills from us and I learn them in return, which is reflected in my practice. I am lucky to work with a fantastic team, and I am privileged to be involved in what I do.

‘Give Back’ employee scheme

We pride ourselves on helping people in need and making a real difference in people’s lives, which is why we have recently introduced the ‘Give Back’ project. Within this scheme, our team members can take one paid day off per year to volunteer in the community, at a local charity or an organisation of their choice. Even helping out with the smallest tasks can make a real difference to the lives of people, animals, and organisations in need.

Nicole Dudley, our new recruitment partner, completed a 10K walk for cancer research.

Freedom For Wheels Charity

Response has joined forces with the charity Freedom For Wheels to help people with disabilities access physiotherapy and sports therapy after the impacts on health and social care after the pandemic. Richard Kendall, our Senior Physiotherapist and Regional Manager at Response are on the board of Freedom for Wheels. He gets involved in endless fundraising activities for them through Marathons, Ride London and Superhero challenges. We also like to help them as much as possible by offering our services to individuals with disabilities who often find it difficult to access vital physiotherapy services
